Boston - Yellow Wood Partners, a consumer focused private equity firm, has hired Joe Atencio as a Partner in Boston. Previously, Joe was Chief Executive Officer of ChemAid Laboratories, a premier formulator and manufacturer of high performance, premium hair care and skin/body care products for branded personal care customers. Prior to joining ChemAid Labs, Joe was with Cosmetic Essence, Inc. in roles that included CFO and then Executive Vice President. As EVP, Joe was responsible for the execution of the company’s globalization strategy and opened operations in Shanghai, China and Strykow, Poland. Prior to CEI, Joe spent fifteen years as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette most recently as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Consumer Products Group. Joe earned a BS in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
